Eden

2017 – Media: gilded found objects, plaster, clay, paint. Various dimension.

Eden comes from the idea of a world turned upside-down, an "earthly paradox" in place of an "earthly paradise".
I worked with found objects, which I've been collecting for years, often from flea markets, but also from the street.
I contemplated them, dissembled them and recomposed them.
They are objects that attracted me for a variety of reasons, objects made of iron, ceramic, wood, plaster, clay, but they're all covered in golden paint, and, like a Midas' touch, it creates a sense of transformation, from the mundane to the opulent.
As we know,  Midas dies of starvation, after turning to gold the world around him, even his own daughter.
