Eden

2016

Found objects, plaster, clay, paint. Various dimensions.

Eden comes from the idea of a world turned upside-down, an "earthly paradox" in place of an "earthly paradise".
I worked with found objects, which I've been collecting for years, often from flea markets, but also from the street. I contemplated them, dissembled them and recomposed them.
They are objects that attracted me for a variety of reasons, objects made of iron, ceramic, wood, plaster, clay, all covered in golden paint that, like a Midas' touch, creates a sense of transformation, from the mundane to the opulent.
Midas eventually dies of starvation after turning into gold his own daughter and everything else around him.
