FREEDOM JUSTICE POWER is the portrait of three women who, against the codes and rules of their own times, have had the courage to be free, ethical and empowered. Judith of Bethulia (the present city of Schechem in the West Bank) is a biblical character, a Jewish woman who in order to free her besieged people from the enemy, kills the Assyrian general Holophernes. Anna Politkovskaya was a Russian journalist who exposed Vladimir Putin’s corruption and human rights abuses during the second Chechen War. She was brutally murdered in 2006 on the day of Putin’s birthday. Olimpia Maidalchini Pamphili lived in Rome in the Baroque period. In a time when women were rarely allowed center stage she was believed to be ruling the Papal State in lieu of her brother-in-law Pope Inocent X.
